Windows Support ~ Backups

All users should be logged off during backups - otherwise the backup may not be successful!

at any time during the day insert the appropriately labeled tape into the tape drive

the system will automatically backup the system during the night

in the morning remove the tape from the drive and check the backup log on the system console for errors

as always, if you see or suspect that an error has occurred please check with support

Manual backup using Windows NT Backup utility

Click Start ~ Programs ~ Administrative Tools ~ Backup

Select Window ~ Drives from the top menu

Click on each check box for each drive displayed in window

Click Backup

Click check boxes for; 'Verify after backup" and "Backup local registry"

Click OK when tape status is ready (may take a few minutes)

Click OK to overwrite existing data on tape
