All users should be logged off during backups -
otherwise the backup may not be successful!
at any time during the day insert the appropriately
labeled tape into the tape drive
the system will automatically backup the system during
the night
in the morning remove the tape from the drive and check
the backup log for errors
to do this, use the option from the main menu under
utilities to list/clear the log. The backup log will display on the screen (to
advance each page press the space bar - to cancel the display press the letter
Q)
the backup log will look something like ...

as always, if you see or suspect that an error has
occurred please check with support
after checking the log and confirming there are
no errors, use the option to clear the log file. You may skip this step if
need be as the next backup will just add to the end of the log. Remember to
clear the log before it gets too long
